Public events are completely different to team and private house investigations. It usually starts off with us contacting the venue owners to see if they would be interested in a paranormal investigation at their property. Once they've said yes we book a meeting at the location where we can get a layout of the location via a walkaround. We talk to the owners and staff to find out if they have had anything go off that they deem to be paranormal and also the history where known. We never ask for full history as we like to go into the event knowing little or nothing about the location. That way our minds aren't swayed when it comes to the event and the evidence we capture. We tend to look up the history or talk to the owners after the event and see if we can match up the history with the evidence we capture. At the initial meeting when also discuss what it is we do, the equipment we use, the experiments we can do and also what we can provide at the events ie food and drink etc. Eventually we will get a portfolio done that we include everything we do and the evidence we've captured over the years of investigating. We then discuss what areas we can have access to, how many people we could invite, whether they provide food and drinks or we do, how much the venue is to hire and many other things that needs to be discussed for us to make this event go ahead. We then try to get an initial investigation in where we can bring the team along and find out where the hotspots are and what we could potentially be dealing with spiritwise. Then after everything is agreed upon, including a date for the event, we go home and draw up an advert and send it to the client for their approval. Once that is done we get the tickets drawn up and live for the world to see (we use Ticketlab for this as they are a great company). Then we continually advertise right up until the event itself. These events are not as full on as our own investigations as we have members of the public with us and their safety is paramount to us. Dealing with the public is very taxing at times but is also very rewarding indeed. Especially when it's their first event and the look on their eyes when they get some evidence is priceless, either by joy or fear. But it is the customer's night and they are important to us. We have many professional hosts on our books that are capable and have customer service skills that we know the customer will always come first. The night of the event we go early to set up the snacks and drinks, the merchandise and the equipment before the customers arrive. We go through a plan of what we are going to do in each room of the building and at what time, as timings are very crucial at these events. If it's a small group then we investigate together as one group, if there's quite a few then we split the customers up and allocate hosts to each group. Once that is done we sit back, have a drink and a laugh before the event starts. We then welcome the guests to the venue and we talk to the customers about where they're from and get to know a bit about them and see if they are looking forward to it. Again customer service is first and foremost to us. Then just before the event begins we do a general talk to everyone discussing health & safety, what experiments we do, what we expect and don't tolerate ie drugs, and what to expect on the night. Then the investigation begins. We talk to the customers during the break times to make sure they are enjoying themselves and about the paranormal in general. At the end of the investigation we get a team photo to comemorate the night and thank the customers for coming. We then speak to the venue owners, pack up and go home fully drained
